The Halosun Standard
What's actually under your panels
Two rooftop systems can look identical from the street and perform completely differently for the next 25 years. The difference is almost never the panel brand - it's what's fixed to your roof, routed through your walls, and buried in your earth pit. That's what this page is about.
Applied to every job, same size or not
The checks we don't compromise on
Whether it's a 6-panel rooftop or a 50 kW commercial plant, every Halosun installation is signed off against the same checklist before we call it finished.
Mounting structure sized for your roof and your panel load - not trimmed on steel gauge to shave the quote.
Every leg fixed to resist wind uplift, not just hold the array down under its own weight.
Every roof penetration sealed in layers - the roof slab underneath stays untouched and dry.
DC and AC cabling sized for minimal voltage drop, not the cheapest gauge that technically carries current.
Earthed at every stage - panels, structure, inverter, and distribution board - tied into one system, not one token pit.
Cable runs dressed, labeled, and routed for a future electrician to actually trace - not hidden behind the inverter.
Every electrical and structural joint torqued correctly, not just hand-tight.
A full commissioning test before we call the job finished - not before we send the invoice.
An on-site walkthrough - you see your isolators, your monitoring app, and your earth points before we leave.
A complete handover file, in writing - not a phone number you have to hope still works in year three.
Structure & waterproofing
The part nobody checks after handover
Roof leaks and lifted panels almost never come from bad weather alone. They come from a structure gauge trimmed to win a quote, or a leg that was never meant to hold against wind. We size the structure for the load your roof will actually carry, and every leg is fixed to take wind uplift, not just gravity - nothing here gets undercut to save on steel.
// simplified reference - anchor points are drilled and resealed; full structural spec is in your project handover file
Cable routing
Every cable run is planned, not improvised
Cable routing is decided at the design stage, before anything is fixed in place - not worked out on site after the fact. A shortcut here is one of the most common ways installers quietly cost you generation for the next 25 years.
Halosun standard
- Cable paths planned at the design stage, not decided on site
- Lower voltage drop, lower cable losses overall
- Runs labeled and documented for future inspection
- Easy to trace, easy to service
What we avoid
- Routing improvised after equipment is already fixed in place
- Longer runs than necessary, adding avoidable loss
- Higher voltage drop, more cable, more cost
- Harder to trace, harder to service, harder to fault-find
As per Rules: Earthing
Not Separate Pits - A Coordinated Earthing System
Solar system earthing is not limited to simply installing a single earth pit. Panels, mounting structures, inverters, safety devices, and related electrical components are made part of a well-organized earthing system through proper Protective Earthing and Equipotential Bonding.
The objective is not merely to achieve low earth resistance, but to provide a safe and reliable current path during fault or surge conditions, and to reduce dangerous Potential Differences between various metallic parts.
What We Focus On
- Bonding of All Necessary Metallic Parts - Exposed metallic parts, such as panel frames and mounting structures, are connected using appropriate protective earthing/bonding arrangements.
- Earthing of Inverters and Safety Devices - The inverter body and necessary AC/DC protection devices are provided with proper protective earth connections so that the protection system functions effectively during a fault or surge.
- A Coordinated Earthing Network - Different earth connections are coordinated through equipotential bonding as required. The goal is not to create isolated earth points, but to establish a reliable and continuous protective-earth system.
- Conductor Selection Based on Calculation and Usage - The size of the earthing conductor is not chosen simply based on "whatever thickest conductor is available." Selection is made according to the conductor material, fault current, protection, installation method, mechanical protection, and applicable standards.
- Lightning Protection as a Distinct Function - The current path of a lightning protection system is an engineering consideration distinct from standard equipment earthing. Where lightning protection is provided, its conductor path, bonding, and earth-electrode arrangement are designed according to the relevant lightning protection requirements.
Our Principle
- Earthing does not just mean the number of pits. Real safety lies in a properly designed, continuous, and verified earthing & bonding system.
We also place strong emphasis on earthing continuity, connections, and necessary testing during installation - so that earthing is not just a visible setup, but a truly functional safety system.

Documentation
You get this in writing, not a phone number to remember
Every Halosun customer receives a personal Owner's Handbook at handover - your system specs, single line diagram, cleaning routine, maintenance schedule and warranty terms, in one document. Most local installers hand over a working system and a phone number. You get both, plus this.
Owner's Handbook
ISSUED AT HANDOVER · YOURS TO KEEP
- System specification sheet
- Single line diagram (SLD)
- Panel care & cleaning routine
- Scheduled maintenance plan
- Warranty summary, by component
- Support & emergency contact details
